COVID-19

Business as Usual in Unusual Times

On Wednesday evening, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Health Minister Magnus Heunicke and other officials held a press conference on the latest development concerning the current outbreak of coronavirus disease, officially known as COVID-19. Frederiksen said the number of confirmed cases in Denmark has risen to 514, and more than 1,300 people are put in quarantine.

To curb the spread of the coronavirus, all students at schools and universities will be sent home from Friday, Frederiksen said, adding that all day care facilities will be shut down as of Friday. All public-sector employees in non-critical has also been forced to stay home, like private-sector employers are strongly encouraged to ensure that as many employees as possible are able to work from home.

Since the outbreak began, Kimbrer Computer has been following the advice of the Danish authorities to prioritize everyone’s health and safety, and now, we are taking further steps to address the coronavirus pandemic.

Impact to Kimbrer Computer’s Operations

Despite the current situation, Kimbrer Computer continues to operate at or near 100% efficacy, which means much of our day-to-day work will be conducted as normal. Our customer service is providing uninterrupted support to ensure that any inquiries or concerns are answered swiftly and efficiently.

Likewise, in our warehouse facilities and throughout our supply chain, it is all systems go. We are maintaining an extensive inventory of hardware products, including spare parts, and deliveries are going ahead as scheduled.

However, based on the decisions and recommendations announced yesterday by the Danish government, we are taking a number of measures to keep our employees, customers and partners safe.

Corona-home-office

For our office employees, we have asked them to work from home for two weeks starting today, March 12th. We will continue to do everything we can to respond promptly and helpfully to all inquiries and concerns, whether by phone, e-mail or other communications channels.

For our technicians and warehouse employees who cannot work from home and may be considered at a higher risk for COVID-19, we are taking all the necessary precautions to prevent workplace transmission. This includes:

  • • washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and/or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer;
  • • routinely cleaning all frequently touched surfaces in the workplace, such as workstations, countertops, and doorknobs with disinfectant cleaners;
  • • avoiding touching eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands;
  • • avoiding close contact with co-workers.

Any employee exhibiting flu-like symptoms will not be allowed in the workplace. Disinfectant and sanitization supplies are being made available to all employees, who are also asked to curtail non-essential business travel for the time being.

These are challenging and sometimes frightening times, but we feel confident that as a company, we can get through this and still deliver the same high quality.

We are monitoring the situations around the world and continuing our effort to prevent any possible infection within our business area. Moreover, we will continue to share updates with you through our regular communications channels, such as e-mail, newsletter, our social media feed and our website blog.

On behalf of all Kimbrer Computer employees, our thoughts are with those impacted by the virus, and we are committed to doing our part to ensure that it is contained soon.
